C&G Woodcraft is a family owned custom cabinetry business founded over 25 years ago in Norwalk, Ct. We manufacture cabinetry and millwork for Kitchens, Bathrooms, Family and Media Rooms, Bookcase/Cabinet Built-in’s, Home Libraries and Home Offices. we also manufacture cabinetry for commercial and businesses, like condiment bars, display cases, medical and dentistry cabinets. We offer a level of quality and accountability that is often not obtainable with mass produced cabinets.

We use only the highest quality plywood’s, solid woods and hardware. The cabinet boxes are constructed using only 3/4” thick cabinet grade plywood, with doors and face frames of solid wood which are either 3/4” or 5/4”, (depending on style). We use time proven joinery techniques, such as dados and mortise and tendon joints, to insure your cabinetry investment will look and function properly years from now, as it does when new. All the cabinet boxes, face frames, doors and moldings are manufactured in house by us, which provides the buyer a rapid turn around should something be damaged, either during the installation, or by accident. We use Accuride, Blum, and solid brass hinges when applicable, as well as premium interior fittings.

This is something that is so often missing nowadays, but when you choose C & G Woodcraft, you are dealing with the owner, not a clerk. Measurements are taken on your job site, and any potential problems are discussed, either with you, or the designer, during a “kick-off” meeting prior to start. This insures that everyone is on the same page, and your expectations are met.

We carry no stock, cookie cutter type cabinet lines; instead every project is built to your specifications. You can select any commercially available wood, any style or size that suits you and pick that special stain or paint to provide that unique finishing touch. We offer a wide range of door styles, and we have the ability to customize or provide antique pattern moldings, from either our existing knives, or your existing moldings.

We build cabinetry of all styles, which we separate into four main categories.

Euro-style Frameless: This type of cabinet, made popular when rebuilding post war Europe, has clean lines in which only the doors and drawers are showing. The use of concealed hinges in this style offers maximum storage, interior cabinet visibility and a modern look, at a lower cost. You have the same choice of door styles and interior fittings as you do with our traditional line.

Traditional Beaded Inset: This style has face frames, inset doors with cockbead and exposed butt hinges, yielding a more traditional American look. The face frames are mortised together, which provides a rigid frame into which are mounted hand fitted inset doors on adjustable butt hinges. This style is also available with concealed hinges.

Old World Traditional: Includes all the features of our traditional beaded inset and also features 5/4” thick doors and face frames, applied door and panel moldings, legs or feet, and carvings if desired. This style has a very solid, almost heavy look, like what was built in the late 1800's, to early 1900’s, which is a perfect fit for the antique home.

Contemporary: We also manufacture on a limited basis a contemporary line which has kind of an art deco / art nouveau influence. This is a very unique design, which features hand laid rotated veneers. The combination of the sleek European-style design with the simple, almost geometric angles, are offset by the warmth and feel of the premium wood veneers.

We can and have worked from all types of plans, designer or architects drawings, magazine and vacation pictures, or a simple pencil sketch on a scrap of paper. If you have a concept you wish to explore beyond that of cabinetry or what we have shown in our pictures, please email or call us. We can either work with you directly, or your designer, or we can recommend qualified professionals from those we have dealt with in the past, to make your dreams come true.

Our projects range in size from a single bookcase or cabinet, a complete kitchen or library, to cabinetry for a whole house.
